What Procedure to take Admission in D Pharma, Colleges, Admission, Eligibility ?

Diploma in Pharmacy

 D Pharma is a short-term programme for aspirants who want to foray into pharmaceutical business and pharmacy jobs. The course is ideal for students who seek short programmes in the pharmacy domain as B.Pharma and Pharma.D are long-term courses of up to 6 years. Diploma in pharmacy can also be pursued in order to understand the basics of the programme and pursue advanced courses in this field.

The programme covers basic pharmacy education including the application of chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry, concepts of biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology. The programme enables the students to learn about different chemical salts, their application and uses in medicine. The programme holds good value in the pharmaceutical industry.D.Pharma. is an entry-level course that acts as a gateway for aspirants to pursue higher studies either from India or abroad.

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent to be eligible for D.Pharm admissions.

A minimum aggregate score of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the 10+2 level

 Duration of the course

The duration of the course shall be for two academic years with each academic year spread over a period of not less than one hundred and eighty working days in addition to 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months.

The course of study for Diploma in Pharmacy Part-I and Diploma in Pharmacy Part-II shall include the subjects as given in the Tables I & II below. The number of hour devoted to each subject for its teaching in Theory and Practical,

Pharmaceutical Chemistry-II

Pharmacology  & Toxicology

Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence

Drug Store and Business Management

Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy

 Mode of examinations

(1)  Each theory and practical examination in the subjects mentioned in Table-III & IV shall be of three hours duration.

(2)  A Candidate who fails in theory or practical examination of a subject shall re-appear both in theory and practical of the same subject.

(3)  Practical examination shall also consist of a viva-voce (Oral) examination.
